Personalizing Your Navigation

This article shows you how to set a different homepage and modify both header and footer menus.

Changing the Default Homepage

  1. Log into your Teachable school.
  2. Click Site.
  3. Select Navigation.

  4. Change the default homepage for logged-out users to Use Course Directory, Use Custom Page, or Use Specific Course, based on which page you would rather highlight to those users.

  5. Change the default homepage for logged-in users to Use Custom Page or Use Specific Course based on what you’d like to highlight to logged-in users.

  6. Click Save.

Modifying Your Header

  1. Log into your Teachable school.
  2. Click Site.
  3. Select Navigation.

  4. Choose Header.

  5. To add a new header link that links to a custom page or blog, click the Add Link button.

  6. A popup modal will appear. Fill out the form and click Add Link when done.

    • Location: This where the link will appear on your site. Most likely you will leave it as Header because that’s what we are modifying here.
    • Text: The link text that leads to the page you are adding to the header.
    • URL: Paste in the URL of the page you want to link.
    • Open in New Tab: Toggle this switch to the on position if you want the page to open in a new browser tab.
    • Visible To: Most likely you will leave this set to All. You can also limit who sees the link by whether they are logged in or logged out.

Modifying Your Footer

  1. Log into your Teachable school.
  2. Click Site.
  3. Select Navigation.

  4. Choose Footer.

  5. To add a new footer link that links to a custom page or blog, click the Add Link button. Fill out the form and click Add Link on the form when done.

    • Location: This where the link will appear on your site. Most likely you will leave it as Footer because that’s what we are modifying here.
    • Text: The link text that leads to the page you are adding to the footer.
    • URL: Paste in the URL of the page you want to link.
    • Open in New Tab: Toggle this switch to the on position if you want the
    • page to open in a new browser tab.
    • Visible To: Most likely you will leave this set to All. You can also limit who sees the link by whether they are logged in or logged out.

Edit, Delete and Reorder Navigation Links

  1. Use the red and teal icons to delete or edit links.
  2. Drag links above or below one another to reorder them.
