How do I change the default sort on my product catalog?

Setting a default sort ensures your catalog highlights the most relevant, engaging, or strategically ordered content first—helping guide students to the right products and improving their browsing experience.

How to update your default sort

  1. Go to Site > Navigation, then scroll to Product catalog: Default sort.
  2. Set your default sort separately for logged-out and logged-in users.
    • By default, logged-in users see courses sorted by In progress, while logged-out users see courses sorted by Name (A–Z).
    • Sort options:
      • In progress – Displays courses based on the student’s progress (from most to least completed), with remaining products sorted alphabetically.
      • Name (A–Z) – Sorts courses alphabetically.
      • Name (Z–A) – Sorts courses in reverse alphabetical order.
      • Custom catalog order – Will display as "Recommend order" on the student side. Uses the custom order you've set in the Course Index via the Reorder button. Remaining products appear in alphabetical order.
  3. Once you’ve made your selections, click Save for each view.
