Why does my product catalog look different from what students see?

This article explains why admins often see more products in the catalog than students do—and how to preview the catalog like a new student.

Why do I see more products in my catalog than my students do?

When you're logged into your school and view the Browse Products page, you're seeing it as if you're a student, but because you're an admin and likely enrolled in many products, your view includes more than a typical student would see.

Here’s why:

  • Bundles and memberships appear unbundled
If you're enrolled in a bundle or membership, each product inside will show up individually in your catalog view.
  • Any product you're enrolled in will appear, no matter what
This includes products that are unpublished, unlisted, or hidden from the catalog.
As an admin, you're often enrolled in products while previewing or building them, so your view naturally includes more items. If you're enrolled in a product, you will see it, even if a regular student wouldn't. Learn more about updating your product status here

How to preview the catalog like a new student (logged-out view)

If you want to see your catalog the way a brand new visitor would—someone who’s not enrolled in anything—you can:

  1. Log out or open the Browse Products page in an incognito/private window to see the logged-out view.
This is how your school will appear to prospective students who aren’t enrolled yet.
  2. Unenroll yourself from any products you don’t want to appear in your view.

How to remove product access

If you want to stop seeing specific products or remove access for others, you'll need to manually unenroll from them. Learn how:
