This article reviews how to use affiliate application forms to have users apply to be affiliates in your school.
Overview
On the Pro plan and up, you can allow users to promote your product(s) as an affiliate. Affiliates receive a percentage of revenue generated from any sale made with their affiliate link. Adding affiliates to your school can help you increase the size of your audience and revenue channels.
To add affiliates to your school, you have multiple options:
- Add affiliates manually - Add new users to your school as affiliates, or turn existing students into affiliates
- Affiliate application forms - Add an application form to one of your school pages, and have users apply to be affiliates in your school. You can also share the affiliate application form directly with your users via the application form URL.
This article reviews affiliate application forms and how to use them to manage and accept new affiliates to your school.
You can create an application form that requires approval for acceptance (i.e., the affiliate won’t be added to your school until you approve their application request), or you can create a form that accepts all applicants as affiliates once they complete the form. Both users who do not yet have accounts in your school and existing students can apply to be affiliates via an application form.

Create an application form
Affiliate application forms are added as pages to your school—this allows you to easily share the application with prospective affiliates.
You can have one active affiliate application form at a time.
To create an application form:
- Navigate to your Users > Affiliates page.
- Click the Prospective Affiliates tab towards the top of the page.
- Click the Create Application button. This will automatically open up to a page editor (i.e., a new page titled Affiliates Page from on your Site > Pages menu) with an Affiliate Form page block added.
- Click the Affiliate Form block and fill out the following details:
- Approvals
- Select With approval to require admin approval before the user is added as an affiliate.
- Select Without approval to have the user immediately added as an affiliate once they submit the application form.
- Heading text - The title, or first line, of the form.
- Description text - A short description beneath the heading.
- Name label text - The text label above the name input field.
- Email label text - The text label above the email input field.
-
Include an additional form field for applicants to provide more information - Check off this box if you would like to add a third (optional) input field for applicants to fill in.
- If checked off, fill out the Additional field text with the text label for the third input field.
- Commission percentage - Set the commission percentage for users who become affiliates via the application form. The commission percentage amount will automatically display on the application form. You can always change an individual’s affiliate commission percentage later.
- Disclaimer - Set the disclaimer text that your users acknowledge prior to submitting their application. You can use the provided template or text or add in your own.
-
Limit affiliate(s) to a specific course, bundle, or coaching product - Check off this box if you would like to limit affiliates to only receive commission for/promote a specific product or products in your school. You can always limit an individual affiliate to a specific product later.
- If checked off, select a specific product type (e.g., course, coaching product, or bundle) and product(s) from the dropdown menus.
- Thank you note - The text that displays on the page after a user submits their application.
- Approvals
- Click the Publish button in the top right corner of the page to save and publish your work.
Although the only required part of the page is the Affiliate form block, you can also add any other page blocks to the page (such as a text block or image block) to add any other information you would like about your school or affiliate program.

Share application forms
Once you have created your form, you can share it with your prospective affiliates so that they can fill out the form.
There are several ways to share your affiliate application form. You can add the page with the application form to your site navigation, or you can share the link directly with prospective affiliates.
Add the page to your site navigation
You can add the affiliate application form page to your site navigation—meaning the page can be the default homepage/landing page of your school, or added to your school navigation bar or footer.
To add the affiliate application page to your site navigation:
- Navigate to your Users > Affiliates page, and click the Prospective Affiliates tab.
- In the Affiliate Application Form section, click the More Options icon (the three dots) next to the affiliate application form. Then select Add to site navigation.
This will open up your school’s Site > Navigation page, where you can add the page as a homepage, header link, or footer link. Learn more about editing your site’s navigation.
Share link directly
You can also share the link to the page with your application form directly with your prospective affiliates.
To get a direct link to the affiliate application page:
- Navigate to your Users > Affiliates page, and click the Prospective Affiliates tab.
- In the Affiliate Application Form section, click the Copy button next to your active application form.
- Once you have copied the direct URL, you can share it directly with your audience to direct users to the affiliate application form page.
Approve or deny applicants
When creating the application form, you can select to have affiliates added with approvals or without approvals.
If you select without approvals, affiliates will be added once they complete the form (learn more about the affiliate experience below).
If you create the form with approvals, then you will need to approve or deny affiliates once they submit the application form.
To view and manage pending affiliate applications:
- Navigate to your Users > Affiliates page, and click the Prospective Affiliates tab.
- Scroll to the Pending applications section. In this section, you will see the prospective affiliates’ names, email addresses, and any additional information they added to the application (if you included an additional field during application creation). It will also list the date the application was submitted, and the commission percentage amount you set for the application form.
- Approve or deny the application.
- To approve, click the green checkmark icon. Once approved, the user information will move to the Affiliates tab of your Users > Affiliates page.
- To deny, click the red X icon. Once an application is denied, you cannot reinstate it—the user will need to submit another application if they wish to reapply.
Manage or edit application forms
You can have one affiliate application form active at a time.
You can edit the affiliate application form at any time. To do so:
- Navigate to your Users > Affiliates page, and click the Prospective Affiliates tab.
- Click the Edit button next to the application form.
Editing a form brings you to the page builder that contains the application form, where you can edit details on the form itself (such as altering the heading/description, field labels, commission percentage, or if the application requires approvals), or add more content to the page.
From the Affiliate application form section of your Prospective Affiliates tab, you can also click the More Options (i.e., the three dots) icon to view/select the following:
- Unpublish page - Unpublish the page that contains the affiliate application form. Unpublished pages are not accessible to visitors.
- Add to site navigation - Add the page that contains the affiliate application form to your site navigation. Learn more about sharing your application form.
- Rename page title - Edit the title of the page that contains the affiliate application form.
- Rename page URL - Edit the URL of the page.
- Delete page - Delete the page. If you delete the page, the application form will also be deleted. Once an application form is deleted, it cannot be retrieved. If you delete your affiliate application form, you can then create a new one.
The affiliate experience
Once you share the application form with your prospective affiliate(s), they can fill out the form and click Submit to complete their application. After submitting an application, they will see the Thank you note text (which you can customize during setup).
If the application does not require approval, they will be added as affiliates to your school once they click Submit.
If the application requires approval, they will not be added as an affiliate until their application is approved. If you deny an application, the user will not be automatically notified.
All users will receive an email notification once they’ve been added as an affiliate, titled You’ve been added as an affiliate. This email notifies them that they are now an affiliate in your school, and contains a Get Started link that will direct them to their affiliate dashboard. (If they are also a new user in your school, the Get Started link will also confirm their account). School admin can customize the content of this email via the email template editor.
