Bulk user actions

Learn how to select and manage multiple users at once using bulk actions.

Overview

User bulk actions let you select a group of users in your school and perform actions on them at the same time. These actions can include enrolling or unenrolling users from courses, sending emails, or deleting accounts.

Bulk actions save time by allowing you to manage users in mass instead of one by one. You can perform bulk actions on all users, or use filters to group users based on specific criteria.

Note: The available bulk actions vary depending on the user type (Students, Admins, or Affiliates).


Selecting users

To select a group of users in your school:

  1. Go to your Users tab.

  2. Choose the Students, Admins, or Affiliates tab, depending on which user type you want to manage.

  3. Use the checkboxes next to each user’s name to select specific users.

  4. To select all users on the page, click the checkbox at the top of the Name column.

  5. If there are multiple pages of users, you’ll see an option to select all users across all pages.

Tip: To select users from multiple pages without selecting everyone, simply keep selecting as you navigate through pages — your previous selections will be saved automatically.


Using bulk actions

Once you’ve selected all desired users:

  1. Click the Bulk actions dropdown menu at the top of your user list.

  2. Choose the bulk action you want to perform.

Note: The available bulk actions vary depending on the user type you’ve selected (e.g., Students, Admins, or Affiliates).

From the left side navigation menu, the USERS tab is selected, then the STUDENTS tab. Each student name is checked off, then there is an arrow pointing to the BULK ACTIONS drop down menu above the list of students.


Bulk actions for students

You can perform the following bulk actions for students:

  • Enroll in course – Opens a popup where you can choose a course from the dropdown.

    • Note: Students manually enrolled in another course will not receive an email notification.

  • Unenroll from course – Opens a popup where you can choose a course to remove access.

  • Email – Redirects you to the Compose Email page with selected students pre-filled as recipients.

  • Delete – Opens a confirmation popup. Deleting students also unenrolls them from any purchased products.

  • Add tag to user(s) – Opens a popup to assign an existing user tag to the selected users.

  • Remove tag from user(s) – Opens a popup to unassign a user tag from the selected users.

  • Add user(s) as affiliates – Opens a popup to set a commission rate and assign affiliates to specific products.

  • Issue certificate – Opens a popup to select a course certificate to send to students.

Bulk actions for admins

You can perform the following bulk actions for admins:

  • Email – Click Email in the action bar or from the row menu to open the Compose Email page with selected admin addresses pre-filled.

  • Delete – Click Delete in the action bar or from the row menu.

When deleting admins:

  1. A modal will appear prompting you to type DELETE USERS to confirm.

  2. Type the phrase and click Delete X user(s).

Once deleted, you’ll see a confirmation message on the Admins page.


Bulk actions for affiliates

You can perform the following bulk actions for affiliates:

  • Email – Opens the Compose Email page with selected users pre-filled as recipients.

  • Set commission – Opens a modal to set a new default commission rate for selected affiliates.

  • Delete – Opens a confirmation popup to delete selected affiliates.

Note: Deleting affiliates also unenrolls them from any purchased products.

There is a popup window on the screen that states SET COMMISSION: SET THE COMMISSION THESE USERS SHOULD GET FOR TRANSACTIONS. There is then a field to enter a number from 0 to 100.

FAQs

Can I filter users before performing bulk actions?

Yes. Use user filters to segment users based on specific attributes (e.g., enrolled course, date added, or tag) before applying a bulk action.

Can I undo a bulk action?

No. Bulk actions cannot be reversed automatically. Review your selections carefully before confirming.

Are email notifications sent for manual enrollments?

No. Students enrolled manually using bulk actions will not receive an automatic email notification.
