This article goes over how to use the Teachable iOS app as a student of a Teachable school.
Using the Teachable iOS app is completely free. Once you’re enrolled in a course on a Teachable-powered school, you get access to course content anytime, anywhere by downloading the app.
Downloading the iOS App
- Go to the App Store on your iOS device or scan the QR code above.
- Search for Teachable (or simply click this link to be redirected to the page in the app store).
- Click the Get button. Click Install. Enter your Apple ID password or Touch ID if prompted.
NOTE: The Teachable iOS app is compatible and optimized for the iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 15.0 or later. Teachable does not currently have an app for Android devices.
Using the iOS App

- After downloading the app, open the app by selecting the Teachable icon (bright green with black “t:”) from your iOS home screen.
- If you are not yet logged into the app, you will be brought to the login screen.
- Enter the email address associated with your course purchase(s).
- You will be sent a one-time password to the email address associated with your account. Open your email app and locate the email with the subject, “Your Temporary Teachable login code is..."
- Copy the one-time password provided. You can copy the code by tapping on the text and holding down, and then selecting the code text and pressing “copy.”
- Enter the code on the login screen. You can paste from your device’s clipboard by tapping on the first field in the code and holding down, and then selecting “paste."

Upon successful login, you will be brought to your current school enrollments.
NOTE: This list will also include schools in which you are an owner, affiliate, or author
- Select the school you wish to view, which will bring you inside the products area. This area lists products you’re enrolled in that are accessible in the iOS app.

Downloading Content for Offline Viewing
To download a course so that you can view it when offline:
- On the home screen, select the school containing the course you wish to download.
- Select the course you wish to download.
- On the course curriculum screen, select the arrow icon in the top right corner of the screen. This will download all lessons in the course (unless lessons are locked based on completion on time-based release).
- A green download animation will appear. When the download is complete, this will turn into a three-dot icon. You can also see the download progress of each individual lesson by looking at the icon to the right of the lesson name.
To download an individual lesson:
- On the home screen, select the school containing the course you wish to download lessons from.
- Select the course you wish to download lessons from.
- On the course curriculum screen, select the arrow icon to the right of the lesson name.
- A green download animation will appear. When the download is complete, this will turn into a three-dot icon.
You can access downloaded content by opening up the school, course, and lessons when you are offline as you would when you are online. Note that some content is unavailable when offline, such as quizzes and embedded content from 3rd party sites.
To remove downloaded content:
To remove a whole downloaded course, you can select the three-dot icon at the top right of the course overview screen and then select Remove Downloads.
To remove an individual downloaded lesson, you can select the three-dot icon to the right of the lesson name, then select Remove download.
To remove all downloaded content in the app, go to the home screen and select your user icon in the top right corner of the screen. On the settings page, select "Clear all downloads" and confirm when the prompt pops up.

- Pick up where you left off: your course progress is automatically synced between the iPhone app and your Teachable school(s)

Troubleshooting and Common Questions
I clicked the download button–how can I view lessons offline?
A: Once the lesson download is complete, you will see a trash can icon replace the arrow icon. To access downloaded content, go to the schools page and scroll to the section "Your offline content." From there, select "View Downloaded lessons." You can then select the downloaded lesson you wish to view.
How can I adjust video settings?
A: Inside the video player, select the gear icon, and choose the setting you want to change. You can adjust the playback speed, captions, and autoplay settings.
Why am I not receiving the one-time password (OTP) login code?
A: If you're having trouble receiving the OTP code, we're here to assist you. To get started troubleshooting here are a few steps you can take.
- Check Your Spam Folder: Sometimes, emails can end up in your Spam folder by mistake. Please take a moment to check your Spam folder to see if the OTP email is there.
- Resend the Code: If you haven't received the OTP code after one minute you can request it again. Look for the option to resend the code, and give it another try.

Verify your email address: If you're still not receiving the OTP code, it's possible that there's an issue with your account email. Here's what you can do:

Double-check the email address you used to sign up for the school or Teachable account by signing into those accounts. Make sure there are no typos.
Note: If you find unexpected typos, please update your email address from a web browser and try the iOS app login flow again. - If you're sure your email is correct and you're still not receiving the code, there may be an issue with our system.

What email can I use to log in to the app?
A: Any email associated with enrollment in a school or product purchase may be used to access the app. Note that the app only displays courses that a user is enrolled in.
How can I log in to another account?
A: To log in to another account, select your user icon in the top right corner of the app to open the account settings page. Click Sign Out. Then log in with your other account.
Why can't I register?
A: You cannot register for courses from the iOS app.
