Overview

Google Tag Manager is a tag management system (TMS) that allows creators to track and measure code fragments, or tags, on your school's site. After the tag code has been added to your school, you can use Google Tag Manager to set up analytics for your tags.

Set up the integration

To setup the Google Tag Manager and Teachable integration:

  1. Navigate to the Settings > Apps page of your school admin.
  2. Click the Google Tag Manager icon to be redirected to the details page.
  3. On the Google Tag Manager details page, click the Install button in the top right corner of the page. A popup modal will appear.
  4. Add your Google Tag Manager container ID and click the Install button to complete the integration.

Add a tracking code to your school

Once you have installed the Google Tag Manager app, you can copy and paste your Google container code within your school:

  1. Copy the container code from your Google Tag Manager account.
  2. In your school's admin, navigate to Site > Code Snippets.
  3. Paste your container code into the Head Code Snippets. Click Save.
  4. Return to your Google Tag Manager account to verify the code has been installed.

Once installed, you can setup your tracking and other tags directly from your Google Tag Manager account.

Disable the integration

If you would like to stop tracking, you can disable the integration at any time.

To do so:

  1. Navigate to the Settings > Apps page of your school admin.
  2. Click the Google Tag Manager icon to be redirected to the details page.
  3. Click the Uninstall button in the top right corner of the page.
  4. A modal will pop up asking to confirm the uninstall. Click on the Uninstall button to continue. Please note that this action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Please note your tracking code will remain in your Head Code Snippets. Navigate to Site > Code Snippets to remove any remaining code from your school.
