How to log in

Learn how school owners and admins can access their Teachable school dashboard and resolve common login issues.

Overview

This guide covers how school owners and admins log in to their Teachable dashboard.

Unsure of your user type? Click the arrow below:

  • Students are signed up for a course, coaching product, memberships, etc.

  • Owners and admins are responsible for uploading and maintaining such content for their students.

If you're a student, there are specific guides for you. Click the arrow below:

As a school owner or admin, you may have access to two types of accounts:

  • Teachable Account: one set of credentials that connects you to all your Teachable schools. (Think of it like a universal login.)

  • School account: tied to one specific school. Can be linked to your Teachable Account, but works independently too.

View these two articles to learn more about how to:

Below are the steps to sign in to either account type.

How to log in

Via your school

  1. Go to your school's homepage and select the “Login” option, often in the top right corner. (Or visit yourschool.teachable.com/sign_in)

  2. Enter your email address and click Log in.

  3. Check your email for a one-time password (OTP) and enter it to complete login.

    1. If you’re unable to receive an OTP code or would rather use a traditional password, select “Login with password instead”

    2. “Remember me” allows you to stay signed into your account for 30 days

Via Teachable.com

  1. Go to teachable.com and click “Creator login” in the upper right corner.

  2. Enter your email and password.

  3. Select the school you want to access from your account dashboard.

Understanding your login options

Teachable offers a few ways to log in depending on your preference and situation.

One-time password (OTP)

This is the default login method. Instead of a static password, Teachable sends a temporary code to your email each time you log in. A new code is generated for each login session, allowing for a more secure experience.

Codes are valid for up to 1 hour. View the troubleshooting section if you're unable to receive an OTP code.

Password login

If a traditional password is preferred, click "Having trouble? Log in with password instead".

NOTE: As an admin, you can also set or reset a password for your students.

Device confirmation

(Admins and owners only)

Because admin level accounts have access to sensitive school data, Teachable will send a 6-digit confirmation code the first time you log in from a new device or browser.

Device confirmation codes will be sent when signing in:

  • A new device

  • From an incognito or private browsing mode

  • After clearing your browser cache or cookies

If you do not recognize the device or login attempt, reset your password immediately.

Troubleshooting login issues

Below are common issues that can be resolved with a few steps.

"Email or password is incorrect"

  • Check for typos in your email address

  • Select the "login with password instead" option instead of OTP, or vice versa.

  • Reset your password at the login screen

If resetting doesn't work, a school admin can verify and update a student email directly from the admin panel under Users > Students.

Not receiving OTP or reset emails

  • Check your spam, promotions, or updates folders

  • Search your inbox for "Reset Password Instructions" or "Login attempt on a new device"

  • Add Teachable's sending domain to your safe sender list

  • Click Resend once you've completed the steps in the guide linked above

NOTE: It may be possible that the email address linked to your account is incorrect/misspelled. If this is your first time signing into your account, ensure you’ve received emails for it before. Admins can reset student emails.

If you are an admin and suspect your email is incorrect, reach out to Support for further assistance.

"Can't secure connection" or SSL error

Try these steps in order:

  1. Clear your cache and cookies

  2. Disable browser extensions (ad blockers, privacy tools)

  3. Try incognito or private browsing mode

  4. Update your browser

  5. Try a different network or device

  6. Double-check your school URL is correct. (ie. www.myschool.teachable.com is incorrect)

Still stuck? Contact Teachable Support with a screenshot or screen recording of the error.

Helping a student with login issues

Direct students to the Student login guide. This guide provides in-depth instruction and troubleshooting to resolve most login issues.

If further assistance is needed, admins can help them from the admin panel:

  • Go to Users > Students to look up their account

  • Verify or update their email address

  • Set or reset their password directly

Teachable Support can also assist with more difficult login issues.
