Overview
Students can enroll themselves by completing the checkout process. However, school owners and admins can also manually enroll or unenroll students when needed.
Manual enrollment allows you to give course access without requiring payment or checkout. You can enroll or unenroll both new and existing users from individual courses.
Note: Manual enrollment via this method is only supported for courses. For coaching products or bundles, use the bulk import feature available on the Growth plan and above.
How to manually enroll students
Enroll an existing student
To enroll a user who already has an account in your school:
Go to Users from your admin sidebar.
Click the Students tab.
Select the student you want to enroll.
Go to the Enrollments tab in their profile.
Under Enroll in Course, select the course from the dropdown.
Click Enroll.
You can also enroll owners, authors, affiliates, or custom users. From the Users tab, select their user type and follow steps 3–6 above.
Note: Students manually enrolled through this method will not receive an email confirmation.
Enroll a new student
You can manually add new students to your school without requiring them to go through the sign-up process.
When you manually create their profile, you can immediately enroll them in a course—no checkout or email confirmation required.
How to manually unenroll students
To remove a student from a course:
Go to Users from your admin sidebar.
Select the user you want to unenroll.
Click the Enrollments tab in their profile.
In the Enrollments section, click the More actions (⋮) icon next to the course.
Click Unenroll.
Confirm by clicking OK in the popup.
Note: This method only applies to courses. For other product types, refer to the respective articles on unenrolling from coaching or bundles.
Bulk actions
If you want to enroll or unenroll multiple students at once, you can use user bulk actions.
FAQs
Does unenrolling a student cancel their subscription or payment plan?
Yes. Unenrolling a student will cancel any active subscription or payment plan. They will not be charged again after being removed from the course.
Can I end a student’s subscription without unenrolling them?
Yes. You can end a subscription from the Purchases tab of the student’s profile.
Note:
You cannot pause a subscription.
If you end or unenroll, the student must re-purchase the course to regain access.
Will a student lose their course progress if they re-enroll?
No. Course progress is saved. If a student is unenrolled and later re-enrolls, they can pick up where they left off.
To reset progress manually, go to the Progress Reports tab of their profile.
Can students unenroll themselves?
Generally, no. Students must contact the school owner to be unenrolled.
Exception: Students enrolled via a subscription can cancel it themselves. They’ll be unenrolled automatically at the end of their billing cycle. If a subscription payment fails and is not updated in time, they’ll also be unenrolled.
How can I remove a student entirely from my school?
Go to the Information tab of the student's profile and click Delete. This removes the student and all enrollments permanently.
Important: Deleting a student is irreversible. All progress, purchases, and user data will be lost.
