Step 1: Open your school
Log in to your Teachable account and click on your school. This takes you to your school dashboard, where you can manage all aspects of your online business.
Step 2: Create a product
Teachable offers five main product types to monetize your expertise:
Courses — structured lessons and curriculum
Coaching — one-on-one or group sessions
Digital downloads — files, templates, and resources
Bundles — combinations of multiple products
Memberships — recurring access to content or community
Navigate to the Products section in the left-hand menu and select your desired product type to get started.
Step 3: Customize your school
Make your school reflect your brand and provide a professional experience for your students.
Branding — upload a logo and choose your theme settings from Site > Theme
Domain — your school comes with a free Teachable subdomain (yourschool.teachable.com). You can keep this or connect your own domain from Site > Domains
Pages — customize your homepage and sales pages from Site > Pages
Step 4: Set up payments
Before you can sell, you need to connect a payment gateway. Teachable Payments is Teachable's built-in payment solution — it handles payment processing, payouts, automatic tax, and student subscription management all in one place.
To get started, go to Sales > Payment Settings and select your country. If Teachable Payments is available in your country, you'll be guided through Stripe onboarding to connect your bank account and start accepting payments.

If your country isn't supported, you'll be routed to connect a Custom Payment Gateway (your own Stripe account) instead
Tip: You can start building your school and creating products before setting up payments. You'll just need a gateway connected before you can create prices and accept purchases from students.
